Celebrating Canadian Architects: The Claims-Free Architect Named Among Best Podcasts for Risk Education

We are thrilled to announce that The Claims-Free Architect podcast has been recognized as one of the best podcasts for Canadian architects in 2024 by Canadian Architect magazine!

This recognition is a testament to the podcast’s growing impact in providing risk awareness and education to the architectural community in Ontario. As the leading provider of mandatory professional liability insurance for architects in Ontario, we are committed to supporting architects in navigating the risks of their profession. It is an honor to see The Claims-Free Architect podcast receive such acknowledgment.

The journey of our podcast began with a simple but powerful idea: to share real-life claims stories and risk management tips that could help architects avoid costly mistakes in their practices. Originally launched as Architects’ Claims Stories, the podcast aimed to shed light on the challenges faced by architects, drawing inspiration from the over 6,000 claims Pro-Demnity has defended over the years. These stories—originally crafted by retired Vice President of Claims, David Croft—were distributed in printed format by mail, and soon became a crucial resource for architects looking to learn from the experiences of others.

In 2023, we made the decision to rebrand the podcast to The Claims-Free Architect. This new name better reflects the aspirations of our audience—licensed architects and architectural practice owners who are striving to protect their practices and be better-informed about the risks they face. The rebranding allows us to focus more directly on risk mitigation strategies and inspire architects to pursue a claims-free future by applying the lessons from the podcast to their everyday work.

We are deeply grateful for the incredible engagement from architects across Ontario, which has helped us more than double our downloads this year. Your support has been instrumental in driving our success, and we remain committed to providing valuable insights that help you identify, manage, and mitigate risks in your practice.

A special thank you to Canadian Architect for this recognition and to everyone who has contributed to the podcast’s success:

  • David Croft, for providing the original claim stories that form the foundation of our podcast.
  • Iliana Arapis, for her leadership in managing, developing, and directing the podcast.
  • Gordon Grice, for adapting our original stories into engaging audio content.
  • John Hackett, for his expert editorial guidance on the scripts.
  • Arnaud Marthouret, founder of Révélateur Studio Inc., for producing the podcast with care and expertise.
  • Liam Gadsby, whose voice brought our stories to life, making them both educational and entertaining.
  • Audio Process, for their outstanding audio engineering.
